“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”

Geometry of Triangles!

1. What the author means by "the playful side of arithmetic" i think is your imagination, and your curiosity about arithmetic. How you experiment, and learn about it.
2. The Latin meaning of the work calculus is "pebble." It derives from the ancient use of pebbles as counters on counting tables. It relates to the article by the examples of rocks the article has in it. The article has examples trying to explain things by using rocks. (pebbles)
3. All the different ways you can sum the numbers 1-55 without actually adding the numbers: by sorting the odd color pebbles (black) from the positive color pebbles (white) into rows and colums. Then multiple the number of rows by colums.
