“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”

The Vacious Depths of Main Street

Main Street is the oldest street to originate in Bateville. People from long ago cam and settled their families here. The first houses, stores, and movie theatreall were built on Main Street. Today they are still standing. Many buisnesses are filling into old run-down buildings, but when you take a look at this historic street, you'll see how empty it actually is. Main Street is run-down, and not much is really going on, but I believe the whole town of Batesville can relate to this one street.
Population of Batesville: 9, 462 people. Batesville has had almost the same populatin for the years, and not much has changed. People are born, people die. Buisnesses are opened, businesses are closed. Nothing has really changed, right? Batesville is more like Main Street than you think. Main Street has stores open, and stores close. So if you really think about it.. what's the difference?
When one buisness closes on Main Street, usually there is another trying to fill it's place frantically. Why is this? Main Street has history, and that attracts visitors. Visitors see these stores, and want to buy their products. Even though this may all be true, there is still a hollow filling about Main Street. Maybe it's the aged roads, and old rusted buildings that give this feeling, but theres something about Main Street that has it's own little charm.
From the road construction on every highway to the smell of chicken factories everytime you open your door, the town of Batesville leaves you with a warm at-peace feeling, right? Not quite. Batesville and Main Street do have similar characteristics, but with that, they're also are quite opposite. So many people, so much traffic, and never ending noise.
Main Street is old, aged, wore-down, and empty, but at the same time it also a popular place to have a business, shop, and learn about the towns history. Batesville can also relate, and contrast to Main Street, by having many similar and different characteristics. But when it comes down to it, we all know that Main Street is a beautiful historic place and gives Batesville a sweet charm.
