January 5, 2011 :) ratios!

                              Ratio 4:1
                                                                          
sides-
BD:16         XZ:4
CD:8           YZ:2

area- 128:8  simplified- 16:1

If you triple the sides the new lenths would be..
BD:48        XZ:12
CD:24        YZ:6
The new ratio would be 12:3
The new area would be 4:1

The effect if you decreasethe ratio of the areas is the ratio of the area is triple the ratio of the sides!
